If you need your morning cup of coffee to jumpstart your day, you are not alone. A good portion of the nation depends on their morning boost to make it through their day. A recent study conducted jointly by CareerBuilder and Dunkin' Donuts reveals that some of us rely on coffee to make it through the days than others. The study looked at workers in various industries to find out who needs their coffee more than others. The top professions requiring a cup of joe to make it through the day are:
  • Food preparation/service workers
  • Scientists
  • Sales representatives
  • Marketing/public relations professionals
  • Nurses/physician assistants
  • Editors/writers/media workers
  • Business executives
  • Teachers/instructors
  • Engineering technicians/support specialists
  • IT managers/network administrators
Additional information gleaned from this year's study includes:
  • 63% of workers drink 2 cups or more of coffee a day.
  • 62% of respondents age 18-24 say they are less productive without coffee.
  • 64% of workers in the northeast drink at least one cup a day, while while the south comes in at 54% and the midwest and west at 51%.
  • 47% of women claimed increased productivity while drinking coffee compared to 40% of men.
