Aimee's steak chili recipe

This recipe has been a work in progress for about 2 years. I think I have finally perfected it. Try it and let me know what you think.

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 pounds flank steak, cut into strips
  • 1 large white onion, chopped
  •  2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced green chile peppers
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 2 cans tomato sauce
  • 2 cans water (use tomato sauce cans)
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 can hot chili beans
  • 1 can medium chili beans


Saute steak in olive oil until just browned. Add garlic and onion and cook mixture until onions become translucent. Add all ingredients to the crock pot and turn on low. Cook on low heat 6-8 hours, until steak is tender.
