How To Make Sugar Pie

Don't you hate it when a craving for sweets strikes and you don't have anything on hand to quiet it? Well, I had this happen earlier today when out of the blue, my tastebuds began demanding something rich and sweet. My solution was to make a brown sugar pie. Similar to a pecan pie, but without the nuts, this sweet rich pie will quiet even the noisiest sweet tooth. It may even put it into a sugar coma.

BROWN SUGAR PIE
  • 1 pie crust
  • 6 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups evaporated milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Roll out pie crust and place in the bottom of your pie plate. In a medium size sauce pan, combine all ingredients and cook over medium low heat until the mixtures comes to a rolling boil. Allow to cook for 5-10 minutes, until thickened and a little darker in color. Pour into pie crust and bake for ten minutes. Lower temperature to 350 degrees and bake for an additional 25 minutes. Allow to cool completely before serving.
