Strawberry and honey bruschetta recipe

The peak time for strawberries may be behind us as we cruise towards fall, but there are still plenty of succulent berries left to be enjoyed before summer's end. Serve this recipe as an appetizer, dessert or snack and know you are treating yourself to something delicious and nutritious.

STRAWBERRY AND HONEY BRUSCHETTA
    • 8 oz loaf baguette-style French bread, cut into 1/2 inch slices
    • 1 container plain Greek-style yogurt
    • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
    • dash cinnamon
    • dash nutmeg
    • 16 fresh strawberries, sliced
    • 1/4 cup honey
    • mint leaves for garnish, if desired
    Directions
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Arrange bread slices in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake until golden. Remove from oven and change the setting to broil. While bread is browning, combine yogurt, brown sugar, and spices. Spread the mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread. Place baking sheet four inches from the heat and broil for a minute. Top with strawberry slices and drizzle with honey and garnish with fresh mint if desired.Serve immediately.
