Avocado orange salsa recipe

 When most people hear the word "salsa", they think of tomatoes, peppers and onions combined witha variety of spices used for dipping tortilla chips. The following recipe goes outside the box box and includes the fresh fruity flavor of oranges with the health benefits of fresh avocado.

AVOCADO ORANGE SALSA
  • 3 avocados, peeled, pitted and diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, diced
  • 1 small jalapeno, seeded and diced
  • 3 tablespoons fresh squeezed orange juice
  • splash olive oil
  • dash garlic salt
  • 2 oranges, peeled, segmented and cut into small pieces (remove seeds if needed)
  • 2-3 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
Directions 
In a medium size bowl, combine all ingredients except the orange segments and cilantro. Stri until combined. Gently fold in the remaining ingredients. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to blend before serving.
