Oatmeal raisin cookie recipe

OATMEAL COOKIES
Ingredients
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Cream shortening and sugars in a large mixing bowl. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine the oats, flour, baking soda and salt and gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in walnuts and raisins, if desired. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets, allowing plenty of room for cookies to spread while baking. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

thanks for the recipe. no way i can make it once i saw the ingredients. dh is diabetic and as good as this looks, he would not stop at one! i will pass it on o my mom to make for all the kids and grandkids.

i am married to a cookie thief so wouldn't dare making them...he would swipe warm wond.

i will check those out. ok, turn about is fair play.

cheap orange chicken:

get a bird (if inners are in, take them out an feed them to the cat or dog...save neckboned for something else)

get a jar a tang

get a brown n bag

rinse and dry off the bird inside and out.

sprinkle tang in side and out (i find it easiest to do all this with bird inside bag.

tie up the bag. put it in the oven. cook.

the tang orange flavor will cook thru and it will be lovely.
