Caramels

1 cup butter
2 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup light corn syrup
1 15 oz can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

In a saucepan, melt butter. Stir in sugar and salt then add corn syrup & mix well.

Add sweetened condensed milk, stirring constantly. Continue stirring & cook to 245 degrees.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour into 9 inch buttered pan. When cold, cut into squares & wrap.

Makes app 50 pieces.
