Cheesesteak sandwich recipe

CHEESESTEAK SANDWICHES
    • 1 cup mayonnaise
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 pound beef round steak, cut into thin strips
    • 1 green bell pepper, sliced thin
    • 1 red bell pepper, sliced thin
    • 2 white onions, sliced into rings
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • 4 hoagie rolls, split lengthwise and toasted
    • (1) 8 ounce package of shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
    • shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, jalapeno and banana peppers to taste
    Directions
    In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise and garlic. Cover and refrigerate until time to assemble sandwiches. Add oil to a large skillet and cook beef until lightly browned. Add peppers. onions,  salt and pepper. Cook until veggies are tender. Turn heat to low and add cheese to the meat/veggie mixture. Cook until cheese is melted. Spread each bun with garlic mayonnaise to taste and top with filling. Garnish with lettuce, tomato and peppers to taste.

    Steak salad recipe

    After trying this hearty salad, you will never refer to salads as "rabbit food" ever again. It features a great range of flavors and textures that is anything but boring.

    STEAK SALAD
    • 1 1/2 pounds beef sirloin steak
    • 8 cups romaine lettuce, torn into bite-size pieces
    • 6 roma (plum) tomatoes, sliced
    • 1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
    • 3/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
    • 1/4 cup walnuts
    • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
    • 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
    • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
    • 1/8 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring
    Directions
    Broil steak to desired doneness. Allow to cool, then slice into bite-size pieces. Arrange lettuce, tomatoes, and mushrooms and top with blue cheese and walnuts. Add steak slices. In a small bowl, whisk together all remaining ingredients and drizzle over salad. Serve immediately. Serves 4.

    Drunken pot roast recipe

    Cold temperatures have settled back into southern Ohio and now is the perfect time to break out your crockpot and enjoy a delicious, home cooked meal that is low on prep time.

    DRUNKEN POT ROAST
    Ingredients
    • 4-5 pound roast
    • bottle of dark beer
    • 1/2 cup ketchup
    • 1/4 cup steak sauce
    • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
    • 2 small white or yellow onions, sliced thinly
    • salt and pepper to taste
    Directions
    Place roast in crock. Whisk together remaining ingredients and pour over top of roast. Cover and cook on high for 4-5 hours or on low for 8-10.

    Cook's Notes
    • if you wish to serve your roast with gravy, pour jous into a small saucepan. Skim fat from liquid and bring too a boil. Combine 1/4 cup flour with 1/4 cup cold water. When mixture is smooth, stir into saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook untill desired thickness.
    • the leftovers from this roast will make delicious sandwiches the following day. Pile high on a bun, top with some of the cooked onions, sprinkle a little jous on the bun and heat until warm.
